Tool making.

Precision for the highest demands

We develop and manufacture punching, progressive, and transfer tools with the utmost precision, tailored precisely to your requirements.

Toolmaking is at the heart of Käfer – this is where we combine craftsmanship, experience, and state-of-the-art technology. We develop and build tools in all sizes: from prototypes to transfer and progressive tools weighing several tons, for sheet thicknesses from 0.3 to 5 mm and cycle rates from 15 to 400 strokes per minute. Our portfolio also includes complex multi-axis and servo-controlled tools. Our standards remain the same: maximum precision and maximum durability.

Our tools are designed for continuous process reliability. We integrate technologies such as brush cleaning, active temperature control, and spray mist peripherals to prevent glitter or chips from forming during forming and embossing. For servo presses, we tailor the tool design specifically to the movement characteristics of the machine—allowing you to reap the full benefits of servo technology.

We also consider maintenance and retrofitting: our tool change systems with slide-in technology enable fast setup times and make maintenance work much easier. In addition, we use sensors and actuators to continuously monitor processes during pressing. We take tribology—the interaction of friction, lubrication, and wear—into account for every tool, thereby optimizing tool life and component quality.

Käfer tools are an investment in safety and efficiency. They secure your production and help keep unit costs low in the long term.

Precise punching tools.

We develop high-precision punching tools that perform up to 400 strokes per minute while maintaining consistently tight tolerances. For you, this means less waste, shorter throughput times, and reliable production—day after day.

Insertion and progressive tools.

With our insertion and progressive tools, we combine several machining steps in a single stroke. This reduces setup times, increases productivity, and sustainably lowers unit costs. These tools offer an enormous increase in efficiency, especially for components with complex requirements.

Transfer tools.

Our transfer tools make your presses more flexible. They are independent of the press type and enable components to be transported safely and efficiently from station to station. Our systems have a modular design, can be adapted to different press sizes, and ensure consistently high part quality with maximum flexibility. How to get the most out of your existing machines: through higher throughput and lower unit costs. For many manufacturing companies, this is the decisive lever for remaining competitive.
